Steiner Binoculars
If you are searching for a pair of binoculars that will bring everything right in to you so that you can see what is going on or for completing those military missions that require you to have tact and skill, you will need to understand what the numbers mean. If you will take a look at the titles that =re on the different binocular brands, you will notice that they all have numbers like 9x30 on them. The first number tells you what the magnification is. The nine would be nice times the magnification that it was before. The 30 would tell you that the lens is thirty millimeters across from one side to the other. It is a reminder of just what the pupil of a human eye does. The larger and wider it opens up to get lighter the better your vision will be in low to dark situations.

Steiner.
10×50 is a decent pair of binoculars. I'm not familiar with the "Galileo" brand, but it's named after one of the right guys if you want to observe space with an optical aid. Could you possibly explain what the problems are… it's very possible you have a simple troubleshooting problem, and the binocs are okay.
Side question:
Do you have porro prism or roof prism binocs?
Porro keep light better, but weigh much more per magnification.
only if teachers were this nice <3 this show a little bit better then arthur

If you're planning to use you binoculars for night- time observing, the first rule in optics is:
The more aperture, the more light- grasp.
Which means, if you have a choice between a pair of 7X35 (meaning 7 power, 35mm objective lenses) vs. a pair of 10X60 (10 power, 60mm objective lenses), your best choice would be the 10X60s.
The larger the objective lenses, the brighter the object will appear.
Some binoculars are so large, though, they require a tripod mount to be stable enough to see anything…
